How to use Squiggle

Everything you need to know to get the most out of the app.

Creating your first list

    Open Squiggle — no sign-up needed. You can use the app entirely as a guest.

  2. 2

    Tap the + button on the home screen.

  3. 3

    Give your list a name (e.g. "Weekly grocery run"), pick a pastel colour and choose an emoji.

  4. 4

    Tap Create. Your list is ready.

Adding items with Magic Add

  1. 1

    Open a list and tap the ✨ Magic Add button.

  2. 2

    Describe what you need in plain language — e.g. "stuff for a pasta dinner for 4" or "breakfast items, low sugar".

  3. 3

    AI generates a list of items with quantities. Review and tap Add to list.

  4. 4

    Items are added instantly. Edit or delete any of them by long-pressing.

Smart Sort

  1. 1

    Once you have items in a list, tap the Smart Sort button.

  2. 2

    AI reorders items by typical supermarket aisle layout so you move through the store efficiently.

  3. 3

    The sorted list is applied immediately — you can undo if you prefer the original order.

Ask AI

  1. 1

    Tap the Ask AI button from the home screen or inside a list.

  2. 2

    Type a question or request — e.g. "Create a list for a BBQ party" or "What do I need to make sushi?".

  3. 3

    AI creates a full list that you can import directly into Squiggle.

Checking off items

  1. 1

    Tap any item to check it off while you shop.

  2. 2

    Checked items move to the bottom so you always see what's left.

  3. 3

    Tap again to uncheck if you need to add more.

Cloud sync & accounts

  1. 1

    Tap the account icon and sign up with email, Google, or Apple — it's free.

  2. 2

    Your lists sync instantly to the cloud and appear on any device you sign in to.

  3. 3

    Guest lists stay local on your device until you sign in — then they're merged.

Sharing & collaboration

  1. 1

    Open a list and tap the share icon to invite someone.

  2. 2

    They get a link — tapping it joins them to the list instantly.

  3. 3

    Changes from any member sync in real time for everyone.

  4. 4

    The list owner can remove members or leave the list at any time.

Reminders

  1. 1

    Open a list and tap the bell icon to set a reminder.

  2. 2

    Choose a time — you'll get a notification when it fires.

  3. 3

    Or pick a location — Squiggle reminds you when you arrive nearby.

Deleting items & lists

  1. 1

    Swipe left on any item to reveal the delete button.

  2. 2

    To delete a full list, swipe left on the list card on the home screen.

  3. 3

    Deleted lists cannot be recovered, so double-check before confirming.
